Introduction to Search Engine Optimization

Search Engine Optimization is a term, which only came into reality only in the later part of 1990s.

It deals with the idea of increasing the possibility of a website to emerge in the search results of Search Engine. With the internet usage seeing an amazing growth in the past ten years, this technique has developed into a career. All the website owners employ search engine optimization techniques to make their website appear in the search results and have the maximum hits monthly or yearly.

The approach toward Search Engine Optimization is simple but the mechanism of this process is complex. In the early days, this process involved just adding up reference words at the right place in the site. Nowadays it has twisted into a whole science involving the topology of the internet, Computer networks and the website development languages. The more sophisticated ways to adopt search engine optimization involves embedding some networking properties and reference word links in to the website backend and the front end as well. In addition the content of the website is developed in such a way that it appears in response to the reference words written on the search engine. Moreover re-linking procedure is also used in which an intermediate virtual network node is added between the website backend and the search engine.

Search Engine Optimization has its darker side as well. Fake site results are often a trouble when we search for any matter. This is due to the fact that some of the people stuff their sites with reference words without having any actual content. The excess of their reference words makes them appear in the result more often than not. In the early 21st century, search engines have themselves have developed ways to counter this fake search results.

Optimizing a site for the search results has grown into a whole new world. With more powerful search engines in the pipeline, people with sharper skills in search engine optimization would be in high demand.
